Simple Life Workshops — Come Home for a Little While
From the moment you turn into our driveway and begin to wind your way down its path, something shifts. You begin to feel as though you've entered another place in time. Maybe it's from a memory past. Or maybe it's the place your heart has been dreaming of but never knew truly existed in the here and now.
The smell of wood smoke and old fashioned cooking greets you. Pantry shelves lined with jars reflect the hard work of a beautiful growing season — tired hands and tired feet and a deep love for old ways and family. That is what this place is. That is what we hope you feel the moment you arrive.
Inside the kitchen, there is talking and laughter and the quiet comfort of doing something meaningful with your hands alongside others. Something is always bubbling on the stove. Something is always worth tending. And somewhere in the middle of it all, most of our guests find something they weren't quite expecting — a feeling of belonging. Almost like a memory of a time that really did exist, but they just can't put their finger on it.
We think we know what that feeling is. It's an aching for a slower, more intentional life. For something real and rooted and unhurried. And for just a little while, here on this old homestead, you get to have it.
Coming soon, we will be offering four seasonal workshops, each one tied to exactly what the land is doing outside our door.
🌼 Dandelion Jelly — (Spring) When the fields turn golden and the dandelions push up through the grass, we gather them. We'll make a jelly so delicate and golden it looks like bottled sunshine. Come learn this old fashioned art before the blooms are gone.
🌸 Apple Blossom Jelly — (Spring into Early Summer) When our old apple trees burst into bloom, we pay attention. Apple blossom jelly is a rare and fleeting thing — made from blossoms, not fruit — and it tastes like the very beginning of something beautiful. This one fills up fast!
🍓 Strawberry Rhubarb Jam — (Early Summer) Sweet and tart and deeply satisfying, strawberry rhubarb jam is the taste of early summer preserved in a jar. We'll make it together the old fashioned way, and you'll go home with something worth savoring long after the season has passed.
🥬 Fermented Vegetables — (Late Summer) As the garden winds down and the harvest comes in, we turn to the old art of fermentation. Preserving vegetables through lacto-fermentation is one of the oldest and most rewarding skills a home cook can have. You'll leave with a jar you made yourself and the knowledge to keep going long after you get home.
Each workshop is held here on our homestead. Spaces are limited and intentionally kept small — because this is not a class. It's a gathering. And every gathering deserves enough room to give each person a sense of belonging.
We would love to have you.... Come home for a little while.
Details and registration for each workshop will be posted as the seasons turn. Follow along so you don't miss your place at the table.
